For years KTMB has been extremely fortunate to attract phenomenal staff who are willing to make the mission and success of KTMB a priority in their world. It is often said at KTMB – as is true for almost anywhere – that we spend more time with our co-workers than we do with our own families so putting the health and integrity of the organization before our own individual priorities have become a key component to our internal staff culture. Recently we opened up a full-time position for an “Operations Manager” knowing that we might not find exactly the right fit. We were looking for an intelligent and talented individual who could do everything that wasn’t getting done from some major high-level stuff to the itty bitty detail work that most of us do not have the time for. In the end, we received more than 50 resumes from amazing individuals from across the nation. We narrowed that down to interview six phenomenal candidates, three of which received second interviews, and in the end, we came back around to the beginning and hired our very own Sylvia Barney-Gibson who started at KTMB a few years ago as a very part-time temporary employee, and who has been with us ever since. She didn’t plan on staying at KTMB, but we are fortunate to have her.
Please help us congratulate and support Sylvia in this new role. In her previous role she was trying to squeeze 20-30 hours worth of work into 10, and now she will be squeezing 60 hours worth of work into 40. I am confident she will succeed! We feel very fortunate to have Sylvia and we thank all of you who took the time to apply. We are so fortunate in this community to have so much talent!
