Commit to a Cleaner Community AdoptASpot Sign

The Adopt-A-Spot program is an opportunity for businesses and community groups to invest in the health and beauty of our community and increase the quality of life for residents and visitors. KTMB has over 40 adopters that collectively clean more than 50 miles of roadway, parks, river corridors and open spaces in the Truckee Meadows.

Your business or group can adopt a spot along a roadway, in a park, along the Truckee River or in an open space area. When you adopt a spot, a road sign with your company or group name will be installed in your spot. At least three cleanups a year are needed to keep your spot clean year-round.  KTMB will provide you with all the tools needed (bags, gloves, shovels, etc.) and coordinate trash pickup.  See the maps below for available spots to choose from.

Sponsor a Spot

Joining the Adopt-A-Spot program at the sponsor level is an opportunity for businesses and organizations to ensure the long-term care and maintenance of the Truckee Meadows and increase civic engagement of local groups. This additional funding supports groups such as boy scout troops and school groups to take part in the Adopt-A-Spot program as scholarship adopters. As an Adopt-A-Spot Sponsor, you’ll get a road sign with your name on it installed in your spot, and- if you so choose- KTMB will coordinate the cleanup and maintenance of your spot. If you prefer to clean your spot, KTMB will provide you with all the support listed above.
