Adopt-A-Park

Started in 1987 by the Biggest Little City Committee to encourage community involvement and pride in our parks, Adopt-A-Park was the seed that started Keep Truckee Meadows Beautiful, then known as Western Nevada Clean Communities. Please check the Project Calendar for upcoming Adopt-A-Park events!

Adopt-A-Spot

Started in 1994, Adopt-A-Spot is an ongoing cleanup program involving specific stretches of road, intersections, blocks, and corners within Reno, Sparks and Washoe County. Litter Index

The Litter Index is a national program to rank areas on cleanliness, and provides a starting point for communities launching litter-prevention programs. Volunteers spread out and rate certain areas based on the Keep America Beautiful scale: 1 meaning “virtually no litter”, all the way to 4 indicating “major dumpsites”.
