Volunteers are needed to unload trees, keep traffic moving in the drop-off areas and collect donations. Volunteers groups are encouraged to sign up as well!

For Christmas Tree drop-off: all three sites will be open from 9:00 am-4:30 pm every day. This program is for residents only and no commercial drop-offs can be accepted. Trees must be free of decorations and not flocked. Recycled trees are chipped into mulch, to be used year-round for weed abatement projects and to prevent soil erosion in park, river and open space projects. Mulch can also be picked up for free by residents.

Christmas Tree Recycling is sponsored by NV Energy and is coordinated by Keep Truckee Meadows Beautiful in partnership with the City of Sparks Parks and Recreation, Washoe County Regional Parks and Open Space, City of Reno Urban Forestry, Sierra and Truckee Meadows Fire Protection Districts, Tholl Fence, Waste Management Recycle America, City of Reno, City of Sparks, Washoe County, and numerous volunteer groups and individuals.
