Since 2003 Keep Truckee Meadows Beautiful has partnered with Nevada Econet (formerly Environmental Leadership), REI, SaveMart Supermarkets, Truckee River Yacht Club, Champions of the Truckee River, City of Reno and City of Sparks Parks and Recreation Departments, and Washoe County Regional Parks and Open Space to clean up trash and debris as well as help with weed abatement projects in and along the Truckee River.

In 2011 over 650 volunteers helped to remove over 9 tons of trash and debris from the Truckee River.  Since 2004 this effort has been supported by a generous grant from TMWA’s Community Foundation Truckee River Fund.  Food and drinks for volunteers provided by SaveMart Supermarkets and Great Basin Brewing Company.

The 2012 Truckee River Cleanup is scheduled for September 29, 2012. Volunteers sign ups will begin at the end of August.
