Kim Rios Sustainability Education Program Manager

As the Sustainability Education Program Manager, Kim is responsible for educating community members on the importance of living in a clean and beautiful area, as well as aiding businesses on their journey to becoming green! Prior to that, she obtained her degree in Environmental Policy from UNR in 2012, spent four years teaching overseas, and served as KTMB’s Education Coordinator AmeriCorps Vista. Apart from talking about trash, Kim enjoys spending time with her husband and dog, exploring the great outdoors, and discovering new hobbies.

Scout Kirby Youth Education Program Manager

Scout has been living and teaching in Reno since graduating from the University of Wisconsin Madison in 2018. After moving to Nevada from Minnesota, she took on her first education position with the Nevada Department of Wildlife. She soon discovered a newfound love for environmental education and Nevada's desert landscape. Whether teaching or during her off time, she is always looking to explore, learn, and connect with nature and people. When she's not out educating kids about environmental stewardship she can be found birding, camping, and exploring Nevada.

Amanda Mullholland Beautifications and Cleanups Program Manager

Originally from Vegas, Amanda came to Reno to get her bachelor's in Wildlife Ecology and Conservation from UNR. She has always had a passion for community service, completing three AmeriCorps terms, one at Urban Roots and two at the Nevada Department of Wildlife. In 2021 she received the Governor's Point of Light award from Nevada Volunteers for her program development at NDOW. She is now responsible for planning and coordinating KTMB's established volunteer programs, as well as maintaining and growing connections with our volunteers and community partners. Chris Ewing Communications Director

As the Communications Content Manager for KTMB, Chris posts all the information you need to know about what's happening at KTMB through our social media, email blasts, and marketing efforts. A few years ago, he moved back to Reno and started his own marketing content business. When Chris isn't logged into the typewriter television for KTMB, he enjoys earning a living taking pictures, building websites, and taking long rides on his road bike.

Matt Webber Volunteer Cleanup Coordinator

Born and raised in Reno, Matt was taught early on that you should always leave any place better than you found it! Therefore, he feels honored to help achieve KTMB’s mission. Previously, he served as an AmeriCorps VISTA Leader for another local non-profit, where he learned the importance of preserving the beauty and natural resources of the Truckee Meadows for future generations. He loves the diverse landscapes Northern Nevada has to offer and you can usually find him hiking during his leisure time. Matt is looking forward to meeting and collaborating with local partners for the Adopt-A-Spot program.

Lindsey Panton Sensory Garden Curator (part-time)

Lindsey learned to love nature in her father’s garden in Scotland. She studied biology at the universities of Glasgow and Edinburgh and has experience in academic research and college teaching. Lindsey's family moved to Reno in 2003 and she joined KTMB in 2014 as an Americorps member. As a lifelong volunteer, she enjoys the opportunity to help Nevadans become more engaged with their community and learn about their local environment. She loves flower gardening, and her favorite projects are maintaining the Sensory Garden with the help of volunteers, and designing improvements for it. The Sensory Garden is her happy place.

KTMB’s AmeriCorps Service Members

AmeriCorps  commit to a full-time year of service. Their goal is to build capacity for the community group they serve so their impact lives on after the year of service had ended. The needs of the Truckee Meadows community are growing, and Keep Truckee Meadows Beautiful is trying to keep up! These service members have been a huge help in growing our education and beautification programs. For more information about AmeriCorps service, check out nationalservice.gov.

Robin Aitchison - Youth Education Coordinator - AmeriCorps

I am a Michigander and landed in Reno in 2016.  I graduated from Grand Valley State University with an MA in Early Childhood Special Education and taught for 25 years in Michigan and 5 years for WCSD.  After retiring in 2021, I spent time travelling with my husband both for his job and for funsies.  I missed being with kiddos, though and jumped at the chance to be of service for KTMB through Americorp.  I look forward to being in WCSD classrooms interacting with kiddos and educating them about caring for our environment as the Youth Education Coordinator.  My downtime includes: spending time with my husband and kids, reading, walking my dog, hiking, jeeping, camping, adding stamps to my National Park passport and my international passport.

Sophie Morton - Service Learning Coordinator - AmeriCorps

Originally from Idaho but moved to Reno in 2007. Ever since then, she has come to love the beautiful desert landscape and the Sierra Nevada mountains. She recently earned her degree in Environmental Science from UNR with a concentration in ecological restoration and conservation and hopes to use her education to help the Truckee Meadows community. Her passion for the outdoors led her to KTMB and AmeriCorps. When she is not at work, Sophie enjoys walking her dogs, watching movies with her friends, and baking sweet treats!

Amber Rieger - Beautifications and Cleanups Coordinator - AmeriCorps

A native Nevadan who loves her dogs, family, and food to no end. Amber holds a BA in International Affairs, is fluent in Spanish, and holds an MA in Public Policy and Administration. Her passion for the outdoors started through her grandma, who grew shitake mushrooms out of a log in the backyard, foraged, and even brought her into the world of canning and gardening. Amber is also an avid nerd and a proud bookworm, and she looks forward to bringing these passions for the world around her into her work as a Beautifications and Cleanups Coordinator with KTMB.
