MORE WAYS TO RECYCLE NON-WORKING AND UNWANTED CHRISTMAS LIGHTS!

KTMB and Greater Nevada Credit Union are teaming up to help you finally get rid of that pesky ball of non-working Christmas lights. Starting December 2nd through January 6th, you can drop off non-working or unwanted Christmas lights to boxes at one of the six following Greater Nevada Credit Union locations for proper disposal:

-Golden Valley - 1095 N Hills Blvd, Reno, NV, 89506

-South Reno - 6745 Sierra Center Pkwy, Reno, NV, 89511

-Spanish Springs - 1101 Los Altos Pkwy, Sparks, NV, 89436

-University - 1385 N Virginia St (Suite 105), Reno, NV, 89503

-Vista - 120 Salomon Ct, Sparks, NV, 89434

-NW Reno - 5150 Mae Anne Ave (Suite 203), Reno, NV, 89523

No halogen, fluorescent, or regular household or commercial use bulbs, please. Refer to the respective GNCU business hours for drop-off windows.

All trees must be ornament, flocking, and tinsel-free. We cannot accept wreaths with wire frames.

Drop-off locations include:

  1. Bartley Ranch Regional Park: 6000 Bartley Ranch Rd, Reno

  2. Reno Sports Complex: 2975 N. Virginia Street, Reno

  3. Shadow Mt. Sports Complex: 3300 Sparks Blvd, Sparks

  4. Truckee Meadows Fire Station - Spanish Springs: 500 Rockwell Blvd

  5. Truckee Meadows Fire Station - Lemmon Valley: 130 Nectar Street

  6. Truckee Meadows Fire Station - Washoe Valley: 1240 East Lake Blvd

We ask for a $5 suggested donation to help cover program costs.

KTMB's Christmas Tree Recycling program will also accept light strand recycling. If you have non-working light strands, you will be able to drop them off at any of the three volunteer-staffed drop-off locations;

• Shadow Mountain Sports Complex

Have no fear. The Boy Scouts are here!

You can also schedule a curbside pick-up of your Christmas Tree with the Boy Scouts of America Nevada Council. They will even take your broken light strands. Click the button below for details and to schedule a pickup on December 28th and 29th or January 4th.
